Police are searching for vandals accused of slashing dozens of tires in southeast Wichita.
Authorities said the suspects are responsible for damaging at least 50 tires over the past month. The crimes have occurred south of Kellogg, east of Edgemoor, and northwest of the Kansas Turnpike.
David Hinner, Wichita community police officer, said the suspects are even targeting vehicles parked in the driveway.
“It’s frustrating because we have no suspect information at all,” Hinner said.
Cynde Gary noticed a problem while driving to work earlier this week.
“We were shocked, we couldn’t think of who didn’t like us and at a loss who would do this,” she said. The vandals damaged two more tires again the next night, costing the Gary’s $1,000.
Police believe teenagers may be responsible for the crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
