WICHITA, Kan. -- Crews battled a house fire Thursday evening in west Wichita.
The fire was reported around 9:30 p.m. at Taft and Kessler, which is just northeast of Kellogg and West Street.
Firefighters at the scene said the home was fully engulfed when they arrived. They brought the blaze under control about 15 minutes later, limiting the damage to a front room. Two people and two dogs living at the home escaped unharmed.
Fire Capt. Darren Matthews told KAKE News the fire caused about $30,000 damage. The cause of the fire was still under investigation Friday morning.
