An Arkansas City man who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in commission of a DUI has been sentenced to serve nearly six years in prison.
News Cow reports Kyndal Orange, 24, was sentenced to 71 months in prison and 36 months of post-release supervision. Last month, Orange was found guilty the death of TiOnna Bruno in March of 2011. She died in an accident on Highway 77 near Strother Field.
Orange also received a concurrent sentence of six months in jail for a charge of not having a driver’s license. He will have the possibility of a sentence reduction for good behavior and will also receive credit for 472 days he already has spent in jail.
Orange also must to pay restitution to Bruno’s family for funeral costs and other expenses.

The driver of the 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Track that crashed early Saturday morning was charged with murder and DUI during a court appearance Monday afternoon.
According to Cowley County Attorney Chris Smith, Kyndal G. Orange, 23, from Arkansas City, was charged with 2nd degree unintentional murder, driving under the influence, violation of a protective order and no driver’s license.
Just before 2am Saturday morning, the Sheriff’s office says the Sport Track was headed South on U.S. 77, just North of Strother Field Airport, when the vehicle unexpectedly swerved to the right, causing it to leave the road and flip several times.
Tionna Rachelle Bruno, 26, from Arkansas City, was a passenger in the vehicle. She was ejected, and pronounced dead on the scene.
Orange, was taken to South Central Kansas Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Deputies say he had become combative at the hospital for unknown reasons.
Orange's bond has been set at $50,000 and his next court appearance is scheduled for March 16.
