Sedgwick County officials have settled a lawsuit against a former COMCARE employee who filed a sexual harassment claim.
The man sued the county for $600,000, claiming a woman sexually harassed him during his employment. The county said the man later lost his job due to poor work performance.
The case was expected to begin in Federal Court this week. The county said the case was classified as a federal lawsuit under the title VII federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act.
During a meeting with the county attorney Monday, Sedgwick County Commissioners settled the lawsuit for $75,000. The county has denied the allegations, but settled to avoid further court costs.
