TOPEKA, Kan The Kansas Supreme Court has upheld a Sedgwick County murder case that went unsolved for a decade.
Sharon Huddleston is in prison for the 2000 murder of Todd Stover. Investigators said Huddleston injected Stover with 100 units of insulin, causing him to die a long, drawn out death. After Stover died, Huddleston and her sister dumped Stover's body in a ditch.
Investigators received new information in 2010 which led to the arrests. Prosecutors said Huddleston was mad at Stover because he failed to get her a job as he promised.
Huddleston's lawyers argued that two prosecutors committed misconduct during closing arguments by telling jurors premeditation can happen after a defendant commits an act that results in death. They also argued the trial court erred by admitting two jailhouse letters Huddleston wrote to her sister.
