Sam Solomon, president and CEO of the Coleman Co. Inc., is leaving his position with the Wichita-based company.

Coleman spokesperson Paul Baltzer says a company-wide announcement was made Thursday morning.

Solomon is leaving for another job but, Baltzer says, the name of that company has not been released.

Solomon’s resignation is effective Friday, Baltzer says.

Coleman’s parent company, Jarden Corp. has not yet named a successor. Baltzer says the company plans to conduct an “internal and external” search for a new CEO.

Solomon replaced Gary Kiedaisch, who resigned in 2007.

He was named permanent CEO at Coleman in 2008 after several months as its interim top executive.

Solomon also oversaw in 2010 the opening of a $35 million distribution facility in Gardner.
