Wichita Crime Stoppers and Wichita police say despite large rewards they still aren't getting clues in cold case murders.

This week's cold case. The May 2012 murder of 23 year-old Samuel Springsteen. Police say Springsteen was home. There was a party across the street. Friends of Springsteen stopped by his house after arguing with rival gang members.

"Words were exchanged at that time and shots were fired striking Springsteen in the head," said Wichita Police Lt. Todd Ojile.

Crime Stoppers doubled the reward to $2000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer.

On April 2, 2010, 55 year-old Chris Jones gunned down inside his home in the 2200 block of south Oliver. He answered a knock at the door and was shot multiple times. Again there are no clues. The reward is $2,000.

Possibly the most mysterious of all these featured cold cases. Tim McGuigan the vice president of Kansas State Bank and a prominent volunteer for the Riverfestival was found shot to death in his home in this quiet northeast Wichita neighborhood in September of last year.

"As a group the Wagonmasters take care of each other," said one of McGuigan's friends, Bryan Frye. "To not know anything is real challenging. Keep positive and hope someone comes forward."

The reward in this case has grown to $25,000. Still police haven't received any clues.

"They're cold cases for a reason," said Ojile. "Either people don't know the information or it's not out there, or they just don't want to come forward or they are scared."

Crime Stoppers says in the McGuigan's case it expects the reward will grow even higher. If you do have a tip on any crimes you can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 267-2111.
