Child Seriously Hurt In Cowley County Crash

A child was seriously injured in a crash Thursday morning in Cowley County.

It happened shortly before 8 a.m. on U.S. 160 at the K-360 bypass on the east side of Winfield.

According to NewsCow, a woman was driving westbound on 160 when her car collided with a truck traveling northbound on the K-360 bypass. The car then reportedly struck a telephone pole.

Two children were in the car, a 7-year-old and a 4-year-old. The 7-year-old girl suffered serious injuries and was transported to a Wichita hospital. The 4-year-old suffered lesser injuries and was taken to a Winfield hospital.

Information on others involved was not available. The accident remains under investigation.
