A child is recovering from injuries after he was struck by a car while walking to school.
It happened near 29th and Shelton around 8 a.m. Thursday.
Police said a 7-year-old boy was trying to cross 29th street during the morning rush hour. The child stepped onto the roadway, then back onto the curb after having second thoughts.
A line of cars slowed after noticing the child. But one car proceded on 29th after the boy stepped back up onto the curb. Police said after the first car passed, the student tried to cross the street again.
The child was struck by a car after entering the street.
It is unclear whether the child was using a cross walk to cross the street.
Authorities said the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
