While there have been scattered showers at Cheney Lake all Memorial Day weekend long visitors say that didn't ruin their fun.
Branden Beauchamp, staying at the Cheney Lake campgrounds, says "I went fishing when it started raining. I also rode my bike when it started raining."
He says the rain wasn't going to get the best of him. And when the sun was out he took full advantage. "We've rode jet skis and I've rode bikes and outdoor cooking"
For others braving the scattered showers, like Brandi Milam and her family, they laughed it off. "We knew the storms were going to be on and off but we didn't care," said Brandi Milam.
Dennis Snyder, who owns a business near the lake, said "we've had a really hard winter and people want to come out really bad so the rain hasn't stopped them any, nope!"
For the Beauchamps and their new friends they've made staying at the campgrounds, this rainy weekend was about creating memories.
We've had a break (from the rain) and we've been able to do a lot of riding and hope to do the same thing tomorrow," said Tony Beauchamp.
Proving a little rain can make for a fun adventure outdoors. "this is Kansas, if you base everything on the forecast might as well stay at home everyday of your life," said Tony.
