A man has been charged in a fatal hit & run accident in Salina that happened back on May 31.
Lewis Grider has been charged with wreckless involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatality or injury accident. Both are felonies. He is also facing a misdemeanor charge of failure to report an accident.
Grider is accused of striking 49-year-old Gail King from behind as she was riding her bike. She died as a result of her injuries.
Later that evening, police arrested Grider. The county attorney's office determined they needed more time to investigate to determine whether Kline should be charged. He was released without posting bond and without being charged.
His first appearance is scheduled for Monday at 2:30 p.m. If convicted, he faces up to 136 months in prison.
