Cattle rustlers are busy as sheriff's deputies across the state are seeing more and more stolen livestock.

This week in Kingman County, one farmer discovered 19 head of cattle were missing. He reported it to the sheriff who quickly called auction houses and put photos of the brand out to the media. Within 10 hours, the missing cattle were returned.

"This is how we make our living," said Kingman County farmer, J.L. Nichols. "It doesn't matter if it a sheep, a goat or a cow. They need to leave it alone."

The State Department of Agriculture says it has seen a spike across the state in cattle theft, mostly because the price has gone up recently.

Many ranchers are now locking gates and keeping a closer eye on their animals.
