The Kansas Star Casino's announced Monday it will use its Kansas All-Star Scholars Fund to distributing $500 VISA reward cards to help teachers in the Sumner County and Mulvane school districts purchase supplies for their classrooms.
“Often teachers are called upon to invest their own dollars to help alleviate the strain on classroom budgets,” said Jill Docking, Chair of the Kansas All-Star Scholars Fund. “This year we hope we can help lessen their burden.”
Since the casino launched its education program in January, they have provided more than $1 million to the students, teachers and families of Sumner County and Mulvane school districts. They are currently in the process of distributing $100 reward cards to every K-12 student in Sumner County and Mulvane School Districts to offset back-to-school costs.
Teachers who qualify are asked to visit the link below and fill out an application by December 1, 2012. The application will require the teacher to list what they plan to use the reward card to purchase.
