The Andover Schools local option budget increase carries with two votes, 1591-1589.

The Republican precinct 211 race remained a tie after provisional ballots were counted. According to official rules, to break the tie, one of the Sedgwick County Commissioners needed to pick a name out of a hat. Ronald Davis won that race.

Voter turnout increased to 20.6% after 848 provisional ballots were added to the final count.

The board of Sedgwick County canvassers have approved the counting of more than 1,000 provisional ballots from the primary election.

The results from the canvass will be released today at 4:30 p.m.

Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman said there are five races where these provisional ballots could make a difference.

Today's results may break a tie on a local option budget increase in the Andover school district. The results will determine whether or not to raise the Andover local option budget by 1 percentage point, with a mill levy decrease from 2.5 mills instead of 3 mills.

Lehman said three state representatives races are close with less than 30 votes between candidates.
