A cable network arrived in Wichita this week to highlight the City’s history for a non-fiction feature.
It’s part of C-SPAN’s 2012 circuit of cities tour. Producers are traveling the country for a second year putting American cities in the national spotlight. The producers also make presentations to the community about the work they do for the network.
C-SPAN will spend a week in the Air Capital, visiting historic sites, interviewing local historians and civic leaders. Producers are also expected to stop at local schools.
Local and state leaders welcomed the network to Wichita during a press conference Monday morning.
The Wichita feature and other productions will air the weekend of June 2-3 on C-SPAN2’s BookTV and C-SPAN3’s American History TV.
