A little rain never hurt anybody. That's just what the Howard family thinks, "rain isn't going to stop us from coming out and having fun."
Especially with the scent of ribs wafting in the air. It's hard for the Howard family to pass it up. Brandon Howard said, "just to get some good BBQ and eat pretty good and have fun with the family."
The third annual Ribfest kicked off Friday. You won't find too many dissatisfied customers.
But Ribfest isn't the only attraction in downtown this weekend, Brantley Gilbert will be performing at the INTRUST Bank Arena on Saturday night.
While BBQ and beer go together, the Wichita Police Department is reminding everyone downtown to be safe. Capt. Doug Nolte said, "anytime there is a special event we'll have officers that are available to kind of help the crowd out as far they need anything or if there is any kind of incident."
And because there will be lots of foot traffic WPD says they will have extra officers available.
