Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina is experiencing a bad case of déjà vu after their fourth break-in in two months. Police say the same man is behind all four break-ins.
"It was identical, had come in the same way had known exactly where to go to get the money,” Administrative Assistant at Trinity Lutheran, Kristine Neff said.
In February, the church was broken into twice in two days. Police say they linked Jonathan Shinn to both burglaries and arrested him. This week the church was broken into again sometime Monday night.
"Investigators came and put in a silent alarm hoping that he would come in and do it again. And so last night we got the phone call that he had tripped the alarm. He was crawling back out the window with his arms full of some items,” Neff said.
Police say the man they caught in the act was Jonathan Shinn.
The Saline County Attorney's office says Shinn has had a very busy few months.
In January, he was arrested for breaking into three of his neighbors homes and was later released on bond.
Then in February, he was arrested for breaking into Trinity Lutheran the first two times. He then pled guilty to the home burglaries, was sentenced, and released on probation...
He was arrested again Thursday for two more break-ins at the same church.
Jonathan Shinn is in the Saline County Jail facing several burglary and theft charges. He's also set to be sentence in April for the first two burglaries committed at Trinity Lutheran last month.
