WICHITA, Kan. — What goes up must come down.
Today, Wichita Police are warning residents of the danger of firing a weapon into the air after a bullet came through the roof of a home in southwest Wichita.
Around 1 a.m. Sunday, residents of a home in the 2200 block of South Anna heard a noise that sounded like a 'clink.' When they entered their kitchen, they found a 9mm bullet laying on the floor and a hole in the ceiling.
No one in the home or others in the area heard gunfire, and police believe the round was fired into the air at a different location.
There were no injuries, but police want to remind residents that it is illegal to discharge a firearm within city limits.
