A building at the old Joyland Amusement Park caught fire and was allowed to burn Friday evening.
Crews were called to the fire in the 2800 block of South Hillside around 6:00 Friday evening. A thick plume of black smoke could be seen from miles away.
Upon arrival, crews found a two-story building fully involved. The fire was contained and allowed to burn.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and a damage estimate has yet to be determined.
