A 9-year-old boy from Liberal has died after being run over by a tractor-trailer late Friday afternoon.
It happened just before 6 p.m. on U.S. Highway 54 and New York Avenue in Liberal. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the boy, Caleb Garcia, failed to yield to the southbound truck and was run over.
The boy died at the scene. The driver of the truck was not hurt.
