The Bombardier Learjet negotiations team presented Machinists union negotiators with the company's 'Best and Final Offer' for a new collective bargaining agreement early Thursday morning.
The IAM negotiating team reviewed the latest offer, and has recommended members reject it and strike.
The contract being negotiated covers about 825 hourly employees at the west Wichita aircraft plant.
Earlier this week, Bombardier spokeswoman Peggy Gross said the company is "committed to the negotiation process and is looking forward to finding a resolution that's equitable to both parties as well as continuing our commitment to the long term success of our site."
Bombardier, like other planemakers, is going through a challenging market. There have been production rate cuts and the Lear 60 line is paused right now, a concern to employees who fear more layoffs.
The contract vote is scheduled for Saturday at the Cotillion Ballroom.
KAKE's Chris Frank is gathering details on Bombardier's final offer and reaction from the union. He'll have much more on later KAKE newscasts.
