Wichita, Kan. -- Bombardier Learjet in Wichita will be laying off 200 workers by the end of June.
A Bombardier Learjet spokeswoman says all the employees are connected to the Learjet 85 program. Molly Edwards says 70 of those 200 are contract or temporary workers. She says it includes both union represented and non-represented employees.
Edwards says the company will try to redeploy 40 employees into other programs until the Lear 85 program ramps up.
The Learjet 85 is a composite fuselage business jet that's not in flight test. The plane's first flight was in April.
The impacted employees will be notified and laid off by the end of June.
