The Boeing Co. on Monday announced that its 737 family of aircraft set new single-year records for both deliveries and orders.
The delivery mark was broken Monday when the 377th Next Generation 737 of the year was delivered to United Airlines. The previous record of 376 was set in 2010.
Boeing last month celebrated the delivery of the 7,370th 737 in company history.
In addition to the new delivery record, the single-aisle aircraft has tallied 1,031 net orders in 2012, well past the previous record of 846 in 2007. The year’s tally includes orders for the new 737 Max.
The 737 flew past the previous order record in October.
Spirit AeroSystems Inc. in Wichita builds about 70 percent of the 737 for Boeing.
