A body believed to be that of a missing 18-month-old was recovered Saturday in Osage County.

Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards made the announcement at a late-night news conference.

Richards said a deputy with the Osage County Sheriff's Office found some items believed to be connected to the case. Authorities sent a team to the area and found a body that they believe to be Lana Bailey at about 10 p.m. Saturday.

He said a forensic examination would make a final identification of the body, but said the evidence indicated that the body found Saturday is Lana.

Bailey's mother, Kaylie Bailey, and two men were found dead on a farm in the 3100 block of Georgia Road earlier this week.

Investigators said they believed the child was also a victim of homicide.

"This was not the outcome we wanted. Our hearts and prayers go out to family and to the friends of all four of the victims," Richards said.

Kaylie's family members told KMBC 9 News that the discover of Lana's body brings them closure. They said there was concern that she might have never been found.

"I want the family of Lana, and all the victims, to know that this investigation will continue until we are confident we have collected as much evidence as we can to ensure justice is served on behalf of all four victims," Richards said.

On Friday, Franklin County prosecutors charged Kyle Flack, 27, with capital murder in the deaths of 21-year-old Kaylie Bailey, Lana Bailey and Andrew Stout.

He also faces multiple counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of those three as well as 31-year-old Steven White. Flack was also charged with rape.

Authorities in eastern Kansas are using boats and sonar equipment in their search for a missing toddler presumed to have been killed along with her mother and two other adults at a rural property.

Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards said Saturday that crews were scouring ponds and other waterways in the area near the farm where the three adult bodies were found earlier this week outside Ottawa. The cause of death hasn't been released.

On Friday, 27-year-old Kyle Flack was charged in the deaths of 30-year-old Andrew Stout, 31-year-old Steven White, 21-year-old Kaylie Bailey, and Bailey's daughter, 18-month-old Lana Bailey. Lana Bailey's body hasn't been found.

Richards also said Saturday was the last day of assistance from the multi-agency Kansas Major Squad, which had been activated to help the investigation.
