Rescue crews have recovered a body from the Kansas River, for the second time this week.
At 10 a.m. this morning, a boater reported a possible body in the Kansas River near Burcham Park in Lawrence. Divers from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded, and the body was recovered a short time later.
Investigators have identified the man as 49-year-old Dwight Sexton, who is from the Lawrence area. A cause of death have not been determined, but foul play is not suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
This is the second time this week a body has been recovered from the river. Last Saturday, a man who had been swimming went missing in the river near Kansas City, Kansas. Rescue crews searched the river throughout the weekend, and a body was recovered on Monday.
