Investigators said alcohol was a factor in a drowning at Wilson Lake.

The victim has been identified as Richard Roach of Ellsworth.

The Russell County Sheriff's Office says deputies were dispatched shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday after fishermen competing in a bass tournament discovered the man's body in the water and called 911.

In a news release, Russell County authorities said the cause of death was determined to be drowning with alcohol as a contributing factor.
