A bicyclist has died after being struck by a car in Butler County. It happened around 2:30 this afternoon near Augusta on Route 77.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says that Buick sedan and a bicycle were both southbound when the car hit the bike. 49-year-old Roger Joyce, of El Dorado, was thrown from the bicycle and died at the scene.
Witnesses say both lanes of travel were shut down.
The driver and a toddler in the car were not hurt. The accident is under investigation.
