Baby Girl Killed In Sumner County Rollover Crash

A 6-month-old girl was killed Friday afternoon in a rollover crash in Sumner County.

It happened around 3:15 p.m. on Highway 177 about two miles south of South Haven.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said 31-year-old Tabitha Rushing was heading northbound on the highway when her Ford Explorer left the roadway. When Rushing attempted to get back onto the road, the SUV rolled, coming to rest on its roof.

Six-month-old Azura Rushing was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports state she was not properly restrained.

Another child, 6-year-old Llella Rushing, was taken to a Wichita hospital with potentially serious injuries. Her current condition was not available. The driver was not seriously hurt.

All three are from Livingston, Texas.

The crash is under investigation.
