UPDATE: Fire Damages West Wichita Duplex

UPDATE: Friday, March 15, 2013

A fire at a west Wichita duplex was brought under control around 6:45 p.m. Friday. No injuries were reported.

The fire likely started in a bathroom on the second floor of the duplex, but it was brought under control before it could spread to the adjoining residence, said Battalion Chief Sid Newby.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and a damage estimate has yet to be determined.

Crews are battling a house fire in west Wichita this evening.

Firefighters arrived on scene around 6:15 p.m. and saw smoke and flames emanating from a two-story home in the 700 block of South Maize Court.

Everyone reportedly made it out of the house, but it it not yet known if there were any injuries.
