Police have identified the man who was killed after his car slammed into a northwest Wichita home.
Police say 84-year-old Murvall "Gene" Dick lost control and crashed into a house yesterday in the 1700 block of West Nottingham. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident, and are looking at the possibility of mechanical issues affecting the 1941 Packard he was driving.
A friend was following Dick in another classic car, and told police he saw the Packard accelerate suddenly before it veered from the road.

A man has died after his car drove off the road and crashed into a house Thursday afternoon in northwest Wichita.
It happened just before 3 p.m. in the 1700 block of West Nottingham Lane. Emergency crews were called after a 1941 convertible veered from the road and struck a house.
Emergency crews say the 83-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. It's unknown if his death is based on injuries sustained in the accident or medical issues.
No one else was injured.
