Sedgwick County investigators said a body found in a field yesterday is that of a Wichita teenager reported missing nearly a month ago.
The body of 19-year-old Jordan Turner of Wichita was found near 127th East and Pawnee Wednesday morning.
His father had reported him missing on April 6th, after his son left their home on March 30th.
"Couldn't tell you how he died. I don't even know," said Frank Turner, victim's father. "Just the shock of him being deceased was enough."
Turner's father said his son had a promising football career. He was a football player at Wichita South High School. He also played at Coffeyville Community College and Arizona Western College.
Investigators are calling his death a homicide, and asking anyone with information to call Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office at (316) 660-5300 or Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.
Sheriff's Office said this is the first reported homicide in the unincorporated areas of Sedgwick County in 2013.
