WICHITA, Kan. -- Police are investigating a shooting that happened near an apartment complex in northwest Wichita.
Around 12:30 p. m. Friday officers responded to 911 call about a shooting in the 2100 block of North Amidon. There they found a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in "very serious" condition and is currently in surgery. His name has not been released.
Police are looking for a man and woman in connection with the case. They were last seen leaving the scene in a white quad-cab pickup truck that has a broken window on the rear driver's side. They were armed with a handgun.
Investigators say they are still gathering information about what happened. They believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or knows the location of the vehicle described above is asked to call 911.
One man suffered serious wounds in a shooting in North Wichita this afternoon. Officers were called to the scene, west of 21st and Amidon after 12:30 p.m. The shooting scene is near an apartment complex on the south side of the street.
Emergency dispatchers told KAKE News a man was found with a gunshot wound to the back. EMS workers took him to Via Christi St. Francis for treatment.
