Augusta Firefighters Battle House Fire At Broadway and State Street

Firefighters in Augusta are working to determine the cause of a fire that caused significant damage Sunday.

It happened in the 100 block of E. Broadway near the Augusta Middle School. Fire officials say the fire appears to have began in the garage and then spread to a room of the home.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to other rooms of the home, but the garage was completely destroyed.

The cause hasn't been determined and a damage estimate wasn't available at the scene. No injuries were reported.
