WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita Police have made two arrests in connection to the shooting death of a woman earlier this month in Planeview.
The shooting happened late at night on May 13 in the 3500 block of East Roseberry. According to police, a woman and her husband were walking down the street when multiple gunshots were fired. The woman was shot in the head and pronounced dead minutes later.
She was later identified as 24-year-old Nichole Saldana, a mother of 4.
Police later said that the shooting was gang-related. Officers also believed more than one gun had been used.
On Thursday, officers arrested two documented gang members in connection to the shooting: Jose Enrique Fortiz, 21, was booked just after 11 p.m. last night for first-degree murder. Police also arrested a 17-year-old on the same charge.
