A man recently paroled from prison was arrested Thursday morning for a series of dumpster fires that occurred overnight in downtown Wichita.

According to Wichita fire investigators, six dumpster fires were set during the overnight hours. One of those fires in the 200 block of North Broadway also caused minor damage to a building next to the dumpster.

Officers later arrested 58-year-old David Lee Konert and booked him on six counts of arson.

Konert was paroled last November. He had been convicted of 9 counts of arson in Sedgwick County back in 2011..
