Boaters can spend time on the Arkansas River in Wichita once again.
The City Parks Department announced this morning that the river is open again from 21st Street North to Kellogg. The river was closed due to high water as a result of recent flooding.
The area near the Lincoln Street Dam remains closed due to damage in the area. The dam will be raised this afternoon. The boat passage will be closed to allow the damaged east river wall to be inspected and repaired.
The river elevation through the downtown river walk area will be back at its normal pool elevation by tomorrow afternoon.
