An Arkansas City man was arrested Saturday for child abuse, accused of physically injuring his 3-year-old daughter.
In a news release, Chief Sean Wallace says it began when the child's grandmother took the girl to the hospital after discovering she had been hurt. She also contacted police.
The child and her family were then brought to the Arkansas City Police Department so that Officers could speak with both the child and the family.
Through interviews, police learned that the child had been alone with her father. Police describe the girl as being very articulate for her age. She was able to tell police how she was injured.
After interviewing the father at his home and collecting evidence at the scene, Dakota Graham was brought to the Arkansas City Police Department where he was interviewed and admitted to the abuse. He was then arrested for Abuse of a Child and for Aggravated Battery.
