ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Police are looking for the suspect who robbed an Arkansas City convenience story Thursday afternoon.

Just before 1:30 this afternoon, Arkansas City police officers were dispatched to Casey's General Store, located at 625 W. Madison. Employees told police they had just been robbed at gunpoint.

They told officers that the suspect had entered the store, pulled a handgun and demanded money from a clerk. Once he had the money, he ran from the store southbound in the alley toward Monroe Street.

He's described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old, 200 to 225 pounds and between 5-feet 6 and 6-feet tall. He was wearing a gray pullover hooded sweatshirt, a cap with a red bill, black sweat pants and tan, work-style lace-up boots. He also had a goatee.

Shortly after the robbery, officers were notified of a small silver SUV, possibly a Honda CRV, driving erratically on Monroe. Officers did not locate the vehicle and are unsure if this SUV is connected to the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911, the Arkansas City Police Department at (620) 441-4444 or Crime Stoppers at (620) 442-7777.
