Wichita police continue investigating a shooting that happened this morning on the city's southeast side. Officers were called to the 4900 block of E. Mt. Vernon Street at around 10:15 a.m.

Authorities on scene say an argument broke out between two men outside a residence and shots were fired. One man was hit in the shoulder. Bullets also struck a car and a house across the street.

The victim arrived at a Wichita hospital a short time later. Police say his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Officers were searching the area for a green Pontiac Sunfire, possibly with bullet holes, in connection to the shooting. 911 Dispatch reports that one man has been taken in for questioning.

It was also reported that several adults and children were in the home when the shooting happened.

No names have been released.
