Antonio Brown has been captured.
Brown, was being sought by law enforcement across the state after he escaped from the Saline County Jail Monday. Last month, Brown pleaded no contest to first-degree murder in the 2011 beating death of 14-month-old Clayden Lee Urbanek.
He had been scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday, but was able to slip out of cell door and through an open sally port at the Saline County Jail. Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski, blamed the escape on human error and under-staffing.
The U.S. Marshal's Service tells KAKE News that Brown called marshals from a pay phone to turn himself in. He was picked up in front of a cigarette shop in the 2800 block of S. Broadway.
Brown has family in the area, but it's unclear yet if anyone was assisting him. He was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail around 9:45 Wednesday night
