Amber Alert Canceled For Missing Ark City Boy

Arkansas City Police say the Amber Alert for Anthony Lopez Hernandez is canceled.

Officials say the child has been found safe in Arkansas City. His father, Francisco Jose Lopez-Campos, is in police custody.

Arkansas City Police Department received notice at approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30 that a 3-year old boy was allegedly abducted.

The boy’s mother called to say Anthony Lopez Hernandez was taken by force following an altercation during a supervised visitation with his father, Francisco Jose Lopez-Campos. An Amber Alert has been issued.

The suspect’s vehicle has been located but was found empty. A crime scene and perimeter has been set up and local law enforcement officers, trained trackers, and the K-9 Unit are currently in search of the suspect and the child, who may be on foot in the Ark City area. Local highways are also being monitored.

The child is said to be 2'5", 38 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. The suspect, Lopez-Campos, is said to be 5'5", 200 pounds and bald. He is a suspected gang member from Yonkers, NY and has taken the child there before.

Law enforcement officials are asking the public to call 1-800-KS-CRIME if someone has any information regarding the abduction and/or if someone sees individuals matching these descriptions. The suspect is potentially armed, considered dangerous and should not be confronted.

An Amber Alert has been issued in Kansas.

3-year-old Anthony Hernandez has been missing since yesterday. He was last seen in the 600 block of S. 6th Street in Arkansas City.

Anthony has brown hair and hazel eyes. He stands 2'5" and weighs 38 pounds. He was last seen wearing a yellow tank top, black shorts with yellow stripes, and yellow Spongebob Squarepants crocs.

Anthony is believed to be with 33-year-old Francisco Lopez, who is described as white, bald, 5'5", and weighing 200 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt and dark blue shorts.

Arkansas City Police Chief Sean Wallace say Lopez is the boy's father.

Lopez owns a 2003 Chevy Cavalier, bearing an Oklahoma license plate of 336 HPW. A reflector on the rear of the vehicle, between the back brake lights, is broken.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Kansas Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-KS-Crime.
