HUTCHINSON, Kan. Alcohol is believed to have played a factor in an accident in Hutchinson in which a car struck a pedestrian. It happened just before 2 a.m. Monday in the 1400 block of East 26th Avenue.
Police say a 29-year-old woman was driving westbound on East 26th Avenue when she struck a man with her car. The 29-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital with severe scrapes and fractured ribs.
Officials say alcohol was a factor for both the driver and the pedestrian. The accident is under investigation.
