A two-vehicle crash that took the lives of two young girls in northeast Kansas has now killed their little sister as well.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that 4-year-old Madelynn Spencer of Meriden died Thursday at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Her sisters, 8-year-old Katelynn Spencer and 5-year-old Alissa Spencer, died at the scene of Wednesday's crash in Meriden, about
12 miles north of Topeka.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the girls were in an eastbound car driven by their 33-year-old mother when it failed to yield to a southbound SUV at an intersection. The SUV struck the car on the driver's side.
The mother was injured. The patrol said no one in the car was wearing a safety restraint.
