A Saline County jury has found a man guilty of raping an elderly woman in a Salina hospital.
The jury found Paul Parker Junior guilty on all counts, including rape and aggravated sexual battery
Parker was arrested in February, 2010 for an attack on a woman in her 90s in her hospital bed at Salina Regional Medical Center. The victim was recovering from surgery.
Parker had been paroled a month about a month earlier from a
prison sentence for forgery and theft. He was not an employee of
the hospital.
Investigators testified that DNA tied Parker to the rape. Parker
testified he had gone into the woman's room to use the bathroom but
denied assaulting her.
