The tragedy of the Carr brothers’ murder spree shook the entire Wichita community to its core. During the Carr brothers’ trial many of their victims became close, supporting each other through the painful ordeal.

Now out of a tragic situation comes happiness and hope. H.G., the lone survivor of the Carr brothers’ quadruple murder, and Andy Schreiber, another Carr brothers survivor, are now engaged to be married.

Assistant District Attorney Kim Parker says, "It's always nice to see that people can go on with their lives and develop and find happiness."

The two became close friends during the trial. They started dating a few months after it ended. They’re planning a private wedding ceremony in October.

The District Attorney's office also became close to the pair and several of them will attend the wedding. Parker says, "Our office had the distinct pleasure and honor to be associated with those fine young individuals. Although it did come out of extremely horrendous and tragic circumstances, we are very pleased for them and wish them the best for everything."

You can send a message of congratulations to H.G. and Andy by email at da@sedgwick.gov, or by mail at:
