Eager Shocker fans may not have known whether Wichita State was going to win Wednesday night, but fans say they did know Koch Arena would be loud for the first round game of the National Invitational Tour.

"It will be loud, I'm sure it will be," said season ticket holder Jim Gillett.

"Oh yes, the louder the better," said Shocker fan Jan Ives.

When it comes to the outcome of the game, fans had high hopes.

"I hope they win, they've got a good chance I think if they play well," said long-time ticket holder Roger Klocke.

Wichita State athletic directors say Wednesday's game drew a good crowd, especially for spring break, although it didn't quite sell-out. More than 9,000 fans attended the game.

"Shocker fans are tremendous, they always support, especially when we're winning," said Assistant Athletic Director for Tickets Scott Garrett.

Even though WSU wasn't able to catch a victory, spectators say they were still ready to see an exciting night on the basketball court.

"Should be a good game, people who don't come are going to miss a good game," said Klocke.

"Always enjoyed coming out here but it's a lot more fun when they're winning," said Gillett.
