A Sedgwick County jury found James Ware not guilty of criminal threat after an incident where he was shot by police in a night club parking lot.

Police shot Ware at least seven times in August of 2008 in the parking lot of Max's Club on south Rock Road as he was pulling a gun out of his trunk.

The owner of the club had called police for help when a fight broke out. Ware had been in the military and told police he was getting the gun out of his trunk to help in the situation. He'd been a bouncer in the club.

It took the jury just 45 minutes to acquit Ware of the charges.
