The Department of Defense announced Monday the death of a Fort Rlley airman who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

24-year-old Senior Airman Bradley R. Smith of Troy, Ill., died Jan. 3 near Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained while supporting combat operations. He was assigned to the 10th Air Support Operations Squadron, Fort Riley, Kan.
