Four people are dead after a three-car accident east of Sedalia, Missouri Saturday evening.
The accident happened when 32-year-old Shenika N. Flemons of Kansas City was traveling westbound on U.S. 50 and crossed the centerline. Her 2002 Ford ZX2 rotated counterclockwise and struck the rear of an eastbound 1999 GMC Sierra, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Flemons car then skidded into the path of a 2009 Chevrolet striking the approaching driver and passenger.
Flemons and three passengers in her vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Among the dead were Flemons, Kawanna M. Jackson, 32, and Kamyra Payne, age unknown, all of Kansas City; and Lakeidra L. Kemp, 32, of Columbia, Missouri.
Two children, who were also passengers in Flemon's vehicle, were taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri where they are listed in serious condition.
Two occupants of the Chevrolet were injured and taken to Sedalia hospital.
