Wichita police say there is a false email going around about a series of rapes in downtown Wichita.

One woman was sexually assaulted in the area of Douglas and St. Francis on December 15th, but this is the only incident which has been reported.

An email is going around alerting people to a string of rapes in the same downtown area, but police said it is not true.

They have gone back six months looking for other similar incidents, but they said there aren't any.

If you have any information about the incident which was reported on December 15th, you're urged to call police.
